The social economic conditions faced by youth living in Slum areas

The thesis of the living conditions of youths in slums of Kakoba Division in Mbarara Municipality, Uganda. In Uganda, youth living in slum areas stand in a disadvantaged position in terms of inappropriate social economic conditions evidenced by appalling sanitary conditions, poor infrastructures which lead to poor service delivery, poor accommodation facilities due to the high population growth rate, and poor planning of the government institutions.  The government’s inefficiency in catering to the slums on the infrastructure line often prevents people squatting on its land from accessing essential services and they are regarded as informal illegal settlements, meaning they are under-served in terms of infrastructure development, access to basic amenities, and government health facilities are also not easily accessible for most slum residents.
