Pakistan is predominantly a rural country, though it’s a rural population. By the year 2030, almost 50 percent of the population is expected to be in urban areas. In rural areas, the habitat is quite unplanned, and hence the demand for houses may have an academic interest, but the shortage or otherwise of houses in the rural areas does not have a remarkable impact on the housing scenario, though of course, when a shortage of houses in the country are calculated, it is done on the basis of the overall population the country covering both rural and urban areas.
