The purpose of this Supplementary Planning Guidance is to clarify Council policy on affordable housing until further guidance is adopt ed in the Local Development Framework (LDF). The Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) sets out how any planning application involving affordable housing provision will be processed and assessed to assist all t hose involved in the development process and the provision of affordable housing.

The SPG will remain in place until such a time as it is replaced by an LDF Supplementary Planning Document (LDF/SPD). The LDF/SPD is being prepared as part of the Local Development Framework. Further details of this process are available on request.
