Our Mission

The Union’s quarterly journal, Housing Finance International, focuses on key issues in housing and housing finance as they emerge and follows their evolution.

Our Aim

Our Union aims to promote and facilitate the development of housing finance systems in emerging countries and to encourage cooperation between the public and private sector in the housing and housing finance industry.

Our History

The International Union for Housing Finance was established in 1914 under the name of International Union of Building Societies & Savings and Loan Associations.

What is the IUHF?

Established in 1914, the International Union for Housing Finance (IUHF) is a worldwide networking organization that enables its members to keep up-to-date with the latest developments in housing finance from around the world and to learn from each other’s experiences. The Union currently comprises 104 members covering 49 different countries.

The Journal

Most of the vehicles get damaged just because of maintenance neglect The International Union for Housing Finance publishes an online quarterly journal, Housing Finance International (HFI), which has been published by the Union since 1986. This electronic publication, which is of the highest standard, seeks to provide insights into the world of housing finance and developments concerning it that are unavailable from any other information source.

It provides analysis, data and information about the world of housing finance, including trends and recent developments. This is a unique resource that provides material that is not easily available from any other source. To achieve this HFI commissions contributions from leading experts across the Globe, including members of the Union. The journal is currently edited for the IUHF by Andrew Heywood.

Our Members

The International Union for Housing Finance has members from all over the world. Its members range from national banking associations or mortgage lending institutions to independent consultants, academics, government agencies and international institutes specialised in housing finance.
