Coastal Lincolnshire Strategic Housing Market Assessment
Strategic Housing Market Assessments (SHMAs) are a crucial part of the evidence base informing policy and contributing to shaping strategic thinking in housing and planning. They were introduced as the required evidence base to support policies within the framework introduced by Planning Policy Statement 3 (PPS3) in November 2006 and this requirement is continued in the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) was released in March 2012.
The main body of this document was produced while PPS3 was the relevant planning policy document until it was revoked following the release of the NPPF in March 2012. Therefore, parts of the text refer to PPS3 where relevant, but all definitions used relate to the NPPF.
