A study documenting cross country experiences in preparing and publishing housing price indices. The importance of monitoring house price developments closely has been emphasised due to the influence it has across financial subjects like budget plans, determining financial stability and affordability, strength on economy and so on. The methods used to construct house price indices and the categories of data required have also been discussed. Experiences in nine countries namely, Canada, United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong, France, Australia, Austria, Germany and Sweden, have been studied under this report.
