City Development Strategy

Phnom Penh governor initiated the development of the City Development Strategy (CDS). Accordingly, Seila program at the municipal of Phnom Penh has provided technical and financial support to DoP for the process of CDS preparation according to guidelines of the Ministry of Planning (MoP) for Phnom Penh city development needs.

On April 7, 2003, the Municipal Department of Planning (DoP) conducted the consulting meeting under the chairmanship of Mr Mann Chhoeurn, Chief of cabinet and permanent member, participant relevant stakeholders consisting of DoP, BAU (Bureau Affair de Urbanis), UNhabitat, JFPR and PLG (Partnership for Local Gover-nance). The meeting agreed on the establishment process of CDS.
