This issue brief describes the economic and community benefits of ensuring every family can live in an affordable home. Where people live affects their ability to access quality education, transportation, safety, and employment. This means that housing is not only the single greatest expense for most families, it is also a key determinant in whether or not they have a fair chance to reach their potential as full members of society.
