A house is much more than merely a roof, symbolizes family, stability and wealth, and various other qualities derived from it. Housing is also the single largest investment for most families and the driver of demand for various other allied sectors/ industries of the economy. The housing shortage has always been a major problem over the years in our country since independence with a majority of houses having temporary and insecure tenure, and many homes built of substandard quality and in need of repair.
