This is a book on housing policies, issues and prospects in Malaysia, containing articles of various contributors. This book gives various angles of homeownership, which has been a goal of Malaysian policymakers for more than 50 years. The reasons are not difficult to fathom. Housing places people in close-knit communities, either involuntarily in poverty-stricken and crime-ridden neighbourhoods, or voluntarily in luxury lifestyle ones. As a long-term asset, homeownership helps to create stakes in the peace, stability and prosperity of a nation.
