The objective of this paper is to provide the general position on the extent to which financial services in Tanzania have been integrated into poverty reduction strategies. It examines the financial services, its key players, and the linkages with poverty reduction strategies. The paper goes further to explore the policies and the legal frameworks that have been put in place to ensure the process is successful. The author also highlights the challenges that have been experienced by financial services with a focus on micro finance.
