The PML-N Government is keen to initiate a National Program for Housing, especially for the poorest of the poor, widows, and landless. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the Average national occupancy rate per dwelling in Pakistan is over 6 whereas per room density is 3.5 persons as compared to international standards of 1.1 per room. The World Bank report shows a housing backlog of around 7.5 M units, which is accumulating by 0.35 million per year.
