The purpose of this study, emphasis was placed on residents’ participation in housing and its effects on the level of residential satisfaction. These two are considered together because, housing goes beyond the house; it includes all the accompanying infrastructural services. Since housing is a broad term that not only refers to the house but other concomitant facilities, it is therefore pertinent that this study addresses both aspects of housing. The relationship between the level of participation in housing development and satisfaction in developing countries has not been thoroughly explored in literature. This study attempts to fill the gap. The goal of this study is therefore to propose a strategic framework for residents’ participation in housing by modifying Choguill’s Framework for better application by residents in Akure.
