The Household Integrated Economic Survey HIES was started in 1963 and continued to be carried out with some breaks. In 1990 the questionnaire was revised in order to address the requirements of new system of National Accounts. The income and consumption data of the HIES Survey is being collected by adopting team approach comprising of both male and female enumerators. In each field team female enumerators interviewed the female household members while male enumerators interviewed the male respondents.
