The total outstanding finance as on December 31, 2008, of all banks and DFIs stood at Rs.88.20 billion. Compared to quarter ended December 2007, outstanding of all commercial banks and DFIs increased by 16%. The outstanding net of NPLs as on December 31, 2008 were Rs. 75.89 billion, of which commercial banks accounted for Rs.65.08 billion with private banks posting an outstanding of Rs.36.57 billion. Excluding DFIs, all commercial banks (public sector banks, private banks, Islamic banks and foreign banks) together posted a 15.36% increase when compared to quarter ended December 2007.
