A draft of The State Government of India establish an Authority to be called the State Slum Redevelopment Authority ( the ‘State Authority’), to continuously monitor implementation of this Act and to recommend corrective measures wherever necessary, to take overriding decisions that concern land use, town planning, master planning processes etc. and to exercise powers and perform such other functions assigned to it under this Act. The State Authority shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal, with power, subject to the provisions of this Act, to acquire, hold and dispose of property and may by the said name sue and be sued.
