This document of The First Microfinance Bank (FMFB) has determined social lending will be a focus in the near term; this will consist of loans for housing, health, and education. The initial product planned will be a housing microfinance product, which is anticipated to be delivered with the support of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC). AKTC will provide technical expertise to the client and FMFB on construction and budget issues. This proposal details the background of this product category and the region it will be offered, the results of a client survey, the resulting loan criteria, and the elements of a pilot project to launch the product.
