This is a presentation about the rural housing loan fund of South Africa. It also throws light on the development of housing microfinance (HMF) in South Africa and access to housing microfinance started in earnest in 1996 after Strauss Commission recognized the need to enable access to finance in poor areas of South Africa in rural areas. Since 1996 a lot has happened as will be shown in the following slides through the Rural Housing Loan Fund experience.
