This report was commissioned by the Community Housing Industry Association (CHIA) on behalf of a consortium of not for profit housing and homelessness organisations, as an input to a submission to Infrastructure Australia for developing a case for social and affordable housing as essential social infrastructure; and inclusion on Infrastructure Australia’s 2021Infrastructure Priority List. The report provides an overview of primarily Australian research on the wider social and economic benefits, including public sector cost savings, individual or household disposable income benefits, and Wellbeing Values (WV) provided by the Australian Social Values Bank.
