In developing this Strategy, the government looked at the continuum of housing needs from homelessness to the need for affordable rental housing and homeownership. This review included assessing the legislation and regulations that ensure British Columbians enjoy safe and stable housing and form the foundation for the housing continuum. The Province will better integrate housing with health and social support services, advance self-sufficiency programs for tenants in subsidized housing and improve access to affordable rental housing in the private rental market all of which will ultimately better meet the housing needs of more British Columbians.
